We take a look ahead to the first weekend of the 2021 Formula One season and the start of our second season as partners of the Red Bull Racing Honda Formula One team.
Back in February 2020 IRIS and Red Bull Racing Honda launched a unique partnership in the world of Formula One. Underpinned by our patented IRIS audio technology, Red Bull Racing Honda became not only the first Formula One team, but the first sports team to use the cutting edge IRIS technology and in doing so, embraced the ‘science of sound’.
Our launch event held at Phonica Records in London was a big draw with hundreds of guests, all set in front of the incredible RB12 car and featured Red Bull Racing Honda team principal, Christian Horner as a panelist.
But all the excitement and build up towards the 2020 season following the launch was put on ice due to the global pandemic, so it was a while before we saw the IRIS team headsets make their debut in use at a race, with that moment coming later during the summer when we finally went back racing with the season opener in Austria.
Now if you have been following the latest season of the excellent Drive to Survive on Netflix, you will immediately see why partnering with Red Bull Racing Honda is a powerful asset in our global launch of the IRIS audio brand, with our logo prominent throughout the series on the team headsets. Much like Drive to Survive, IRIS has a number of exciting behind the scenes content features to share with you throughout the 2021 season as we explore the crucial aspects of focus and ‘finding your flow’ in the team’s success. This is of course the team who currently hold the world record for the fastest pit stop and who consistently had the fastest pit stop time throughout the 2020 season.
It is important to us that our partnership with Red Bull Racing Honda also involves the fans, we want to bring you closer to the action and the sounds of F1 – the soundtrack of the sport is one of the aspects which make it such an exciting spectacle. One of the ways you can do that is with our exclusive co-branded IRIS Flow Headphone, discover more on our website www.irislistenwell.com.
Looking ahead to the weekend’s race in Bahrain, the team topped the standings in the free practice 1 and 2 sessions, so we are excited to see this performance follow through into FP3 and qualifying on Saturday, and the race itself on Sunday. As a partner we are proud of the team’s hard work through the winter, and with Max Verstappen and new driver Sergio Perez behind the wheel, 2021 promises to be a season of incredible excitement and huge success on the track.
Good luck Red Bull Racing Honda!
